Vasakhi, Easter and Hip Hop Assemblies

I would like to share with you what I call a ‘memorable moment.’ We had a very special assembly this morning where the school came together to find out about the different Spring festivals celebrated by different faiths during the recent school holidays. The children know all about Pesach as we have been learning about it in school for many weeks but today they also found out about how Christians celebrate Easter and how Sikhs celebrate Vasakhi. The children listened with interest and we are very proud that they are keen to find out how their friends and teachers from different faiths celebrate different festivals.
The assembly ended with us all getting very active and excited, practising Israeli dancing in the hall, in order to perfect our technique ready for Yom Ha’atzmaut. This was obviously very loud but of course organised loudness! Following this, the children exited the hall in absolute silence, ready for their lessons.
This afternoon, at the end of the day, I organised a surprise treat for us all, when a local hip-hop artist performed for the children and the staff and taught us about hip-hop culture and the underlying messages of peace, unity, love and having fun- please visit the school website for pictures.
A day of true Brodetksy memorable moments that makes us so proud of our children and being part of something special!
Kind Regards
Sharon
