Message from LK Governor

Dear Parents and Carers,

Firstly, it was fantastic to see so many of our children in shul on the first 2 days of Succot, thank you so much for coming and taking part in the services. We do have to apologise for the typo which led to an earlier than necessary arrival (this week we’ve double checked our times).

This Shabbat (Saturday morning) we are planning on being at UHC for Shabbat Chol HaMoed. The children’s services are as follows:

Kinderlach for years 2 and above – 10.45am

Play shul – up to end of year 1 – 11.00am

These are followed by a Youth Kiddush. The main service led by Chazzan Alby is also followed by Kiddush in the amazing UHC Succah (which is definitely worth a visit).

On Monday – Shemini Atzeret – our Nurseries and Reception are going to be at BHH on Street Lane singing songs for the whole congregation. It would be amazing if as many of us as possible could come along to support and join in with them. There are youth services also taking place around the same times. Services are of course followed by Kiddush in the Succah (the last chance to visit the Succah this year).

On Monday Night and Tuesday it is Simchat Torah, where we celebrate completing the annual cycle of Torah Readings by singing and dancing with the Sefer Torahs. We have children being honoured in all 3 of the shuls and it would lovely for these Chatanim to be joined by loads of their friends to make this a festival to really remember.

Etz Chaim, UHC and BHH all have a cornucopia of events and activities for all ages on both Monday evening and Tuesday Morning and should not be missed.

We want to say special congratulations and Mazal Tov to the Brodetesky Children (and of course their families) being honoured on Simchat Torah:

At UHC –

Playshul Yeled – Archie Lyons

Playshul Yaldah – Ruby Levey

Kinderlach Yeled – Noah Gould

Kinderlach Yaldah – Libi Doerfler

At BHH –

Chattan Torah Tots – Noah Sherman & Max Abrahams

Junior Chattanim – Poppy & Abe Straight

At Etz Chaim –

Torah Tots Yeled Tov – Jack Cowan

Also a very special mention for the Etz Chaim’s Chatan Bereishit – our very own Mr Y!!!

It would be amazing to see as many of our children as possible supporting their friends (and of course Mr Y) in our shuls over Simchat Torah (and celebrating this super fun festival). After the hard work of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, we’ve definitely earned the fun Simchat Torah promises.

Looking forward to seeing lots of our children in shul this Shabbat and Yom Tov, both in your own shuls and for those who don’t necessarily have a shul they regularly attend, in the shuls we will be at as above.

Shabbat Shalom & Chag Sameach
