Superpowers
Elizabeth wright, a silver medal Paralympian, visited our assembly today as part of our ‘This is Us’ themed week. She spoke to the children about growth mindset, resilience and how we should use our differences as our personal superpowers. The children and staff were inspired by her determination and we are very grateful to her for coming in to share her story. Elizabeth has recently written a book and due to the work she has done with us at Brodetsky she has acknowledged our school and our very own Mrs Simons. Some of the activities we have used this week have come from her new book and they have been so thought provoking for the children that we intend to continue to use them as part of our curriculum. Elizabeth showed the children a video about a young girl with Cerebral Palsy and how she embraces each day and doesn’t want to be treated differently.
Please encourage your children to have a second look at the video with you at home.
