Our New Sefer Torah
On Monday 23rd July 2018, with grateful thanks to Rabbi Daniel Levy and Head Boy of LJFS, Elisha Levy, we celebrated the homecoming of our very own Sefer Torah to the campus. The whole school (including nursery) with the support of 80 parent volunteers, CST volunteers, and Gough and Kelly staff made their way to the Etz Chaim where the final letters were written on the Sefer Torah. The Sefer Torah, dedicated in honour of the tremendous work Rabbi and Rebbitzen Kleiman have done in support of our schools and in memory of the late Dr Sinson who had a clear passion for Jewish Education is being kept at the school to be used by the children, students and community of the schools. When the children got to the Etz Chaim, they were entertained by Dan the Magician followed by entering the main shul to renditions of all our favourite songs! After the completion of the writing and safe dismissal from the Etz Chaim we all paraded back to school following our Sefer Torah in a lively manner. As soon as we arrived back onto the school grounds the music was blaring and everyone was dancing before bags of sweets were given out for all to enjoy! All in all, this was a very exciting day for the school and community and we are thoroughly looking forward to using our brand new Sefer Torah!
May we take this opportunity to thank all those who donated towards either the Sefer Torah itself or to the day’s celebrations. An everlasting powerful memory has been made with thanks to you!
