Celebrating Tu B’Shevat
Today children at Brodetsky celebrated Tu B’Shevat in style!
Children started their day by donating one piece of fruit to a local charity. The fruits are being packaged up this evening and delivered tomorrow. Thank you to all our families who supported this initiative – you can see how many fruits have been donated. Wow!
Then during assembly, Year 6 gave a great presentation about the importance of trees, nature and caring for the environment.
During morning break, the Eco-Committee met and discussed their latest plans which include a walk to school incentive and also did some research into how the rubbish we send from school is recycled by our waste company.
In the afternoon, children shared out new fruits that they had brought in and enjoyed tasting them.
Our Brodetsky Nursery Children had a super time painting trees, pretending to be trees, sing happy birthday and exploring the woodland as well as tasting new fruits too.
Every child has come home with a Tu B’Shevat kit which includes some fruit and vegetable seeds. Get planting!
Happy Tu B’Shevat
