World Book Day
Wow! What an incredible World Book Day we have had today!
It was lovely to see the children all dressed in their favourite colour and the teacher’s had a bit of fun with it too!
We had a wonderful Round Robin of activities, all linked to the book; The Day the Crayons Quit.
The children moved around the activities with their Reading Buddies class:
Drama: The children acted out the different characters (crayons) in the story. They worked on their voice, facial expression and body language.
Art: The children created their own bookmarks using a crayon to design it and then washed over the crayon with water colours.
PSCHE: The children explored the different emotions of the crayons in the story, wrote about times when they have felt these emotions and shared their stories with each other.
English: The children listened to the story sequel; The Day the Crayons Came Home and discussed the story, characters and did some ‘Book Talk.’
A great day was had by all and we are so proud of how well the children worked together!
