Community Allotment
Spring has finally sprung and the allotment is coming alive.
The poppies which the reception children planted last October as part of the World War 1 remembrance events will be flowering shortly and the daffodils brought some welcome colour which the Receptions, Year 1 and 2 children planted. We have sweet peas, beans and potatoes on the way by Year 1 and 2 and radishes, spring onions, parsnips and sunflowers by Year 3 and 4. The Year 5s have just planted radishes, spring onions, chives and rocket.
All the children have done an excellent job in the allotment and they are helping to keep it watered in this wonderful weather. They have enjoyed trying spring onions and herbs while they’ve been in the allotment and we’re looking forward to plenty more produce which everyone will be able to try and buy at the Brodetsky summer fair.
