Active Phonics
The children enjoyed an active literacy lesson where they combined their literacy learning with exercise. The lesson started with a rhyming warm up. There were different words up in the corners of the hall. The children were given a word and had to run to a word that rhymes with it. Then they went into groups of three and had to write the word “I” with their bodies. Lastly, in groups of three, the children had to spell out the letters from the word “the” in the correct order.
