Visit from the LJWB to Year 6
Today the Leeds Jewish Welfare Board (LJWB) visited us in Year 6. They told us all about their charity and what they do.
They help people of all ages and have many activities going on. They aim to raise money for anyone who is in need. For example, someone who is struggling with a medical condition or who is homeless.
If people can’t drive themselves because of a disability, they can get a ride in the LJWB van which is adapted to make it suitable for everyone. They also help to house people who can not take care of themselves.
To be able to help people, they need money, so they have a charity shop whereby people donate items that can be sold. All of the money raised from the shop goes back into the community.
